Stuart P. Gelberg graduated SUNY Albany in May 1977 with a BA, cum laude, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Psychology. A semester had been spent abroad at the University of Copenhagen. Immediately after graduating SUNY Albany, Mr. Gelberg entered SUNY Buffalo School of Law, and graduated in May 1980 in the top third of his class. While at Buffalo, he participated in the Desmond Moot Court competition and served as President of the International Law Society after holding lesser offices.

Mr. Gelberg has lectured extensively for the United States District Court Easter District of New York, Brooklyn Bar Association, National Business Institute, New York State Bar Association, Practicing Law Institute, St. John’s University, Suffolk Bar Association, NYC Civil Court Judges, a nationally known consumer credit counseling service and others. He is a member of various bar associations, The National Conference of Bankruptcy Clerks and the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees. He has been appointed as an examiner by the United States Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of New York. Mr. Gelberg has served as the supervising attorney for the Bankruptcy Extern Program of St. John’s University School of Law. He has also judged the Duberstein Moot Court Competition for many years.
